Obituary of Nicholas Pallotto, Sr.
The family of Nicholas "Nick" Pallotto Sr. is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, June 11th, 2023 at the age of 87 years old. A resident of Monroe Township, New Jersey he peacefully left this earth at home, surrounded by family.
Born on April 9th, 1936, to Donato Pallotto and Mary Riggio, Nick was a long-time resident of Brooklyn, New York before he retired and moved to New Jersey in 2009. Nick was a toolmaker and skilled craftsman. He was often referred to as having, "hands of gold." If you needed a project done correctly, Nick was the man for the job. A lover of the outdoors, in his youth, he cherished many fond memories with his family members on hunting trips and often was found outside tending to his fig tree or tinkering in his shed. Later in life, he could never resist snapping a photo of a deer on his property or watching the Outdoor Channel on television. Nick had many titles and hobbies, but above all, his favorite was being a family man. He loved nothing more than his dining room table to be surrounded by family and of course a delicious meal. Also known for his quick wit and one-liners, he always responded that he, "wanted everything that was coming to him." Jokingly he was usually referring to a second helping of dinner or a chocolate dessert, but Nick truly deserved everything that was indeed coming to him. He gave his life to his family and was loved unmeasurably, especially by his grandchildren, who he dotted on.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Joseph. He is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife of 67 years, Nancy (née Cesa), his four children and their spouses: Donna, her husband Michael, Nicholas Jr., his wife Sheila, Laura, her husband Joseph, and Steven, his wife Rosemarie, his grandchildren: Michael, Danielle, her husband Daniel, Jessica, Amanda, and Gianna, his great grandchildren: Benjamin, Natalie, and Elliott, his sister Connie, her husband Nicholas, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, June 14th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Matthew's Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, New York. A funeral mass will follow on Thursday, June 15th at 11:00 AM at St. Ann's Church, 101 Cromwell Avenue, Staten Island, New York, with interment taking place immediately thereafter at Ocean View Cemetery, 3315 Amboy Road, Staten Island, New York.
