Obituary of Delfin Rivera

Delfin Rivera, 70, of Staten Island, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on June 23, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. He was the loving father of Stephanie Rivera Otero, the best father-in-law to Erik Otero and the cherished grandfather of 3 beautiful and amazing grandchildren who were the light of his life. Justin, Roslyn and Jasmin will always remember Welo Delfin as a warm, loving, funny, generous, patient and overall incredible soul. Delfin was born on April 4, 1953 in Moca, Puerto Rico and was the fifth child from the fourteen children born to Delfin Rivera and Nicolasa Hernandez. He graduated from Fort Hamilton High School and devoted his time to working and helping anyone and everyone he could. He enjoyed his morning coffee, word-find puzzles, cooking family meals and absolutely always had room for dessert! His recipes live on forever through his daughter. Deflin was a selfless person, who was quiet, forgiving and humble and his memory is one that will live on forever in anyone who was blessed to know him.
