Obituary of Theresa S. Piscopo

Theresa “Tessie” Piscopo, 93

Theresa passed away on March 31, 2018 at Eger Health Care Center, where she has resided for the last several years.  She was a lifelong Rosebank resident and parishioner of St. Joseph Church, Rosebank.

Ms. Piscopo was employed for over 40 years by Macy’s Herald Square.  During her tenure there she volunteered to work at many Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parades.  Being an avid traveler, she visited Italy, France, England and Germany.  She also enjoyed taking many cruises to the Caribbean, Bahamas and Bermuda on her favorite cruise line – Costa.  In additions to her larger scale travel, she also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, shopping to keep up with the latest fashions, knitting, Needlepoint and playing cards with her friends. 

Theresa will be remembered as a gentle soul who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Gennaro and Sarah Piscopo.  She is survived by her two nieces, Theresa Pepio and Patricia Schwarzkopf.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, 4/10, departing at 9:15 am.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church (171 St. Mary’s Avenue) at 10 am.  Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Family and friends will be received on Monday, 4/9, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
