Obituary of Steven A. Ferber

Steven A. Ferber, 80, of Westerleigh, passed away at home on August 3, 2023. He was the devoted husband of the late Carmen (2013), the loving father of Dennis Ferber and his wife Jacqueline, Michael Ferber and his wife Lisa, and Janna Goraya and her husband, Andrew. He was also the loving grandfather to Natalie, Kacey, Jaclyn, Steven J., Amy, Dennis, and Isabella. Steven was born in Brooklyn and served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and was honorably discharged with the rank of Airman First Class. He went on to serve with the New York City Police Department for 35 years, from 1966 until 2001 at the rank of Lieutenant. Steven loved aviation, science fiction, military history, and video games. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home will be on Monday, August 7th from 2 pm - 5 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, August 8th, at 10:00 am, with cremation to follow at Rose Hill Crematorium in Linden, NJ. The interment of his cremated remains will be on Friday, August 11th at Long Island National Cemetery at 11:00 am.
