My Aunt Jay-Jay was my hero as a kid! She was a teen in college when I first admired and looked up to her. Even then her feminist ideas were blooming! In the 60’s when she went to college, she drove herself on a motorbike! Rarely heard of back then for a woman to drive a “bike”. She always put family first, so I got to be her favorite niece for quite awhile! Going on dates with her latest boyfriend and stopping for ice cream! Loved her artistic side, which has inspired me even until today, enjoying painting and diy projects! Always had a house with animals, then cousins! Will miss your heart Jay! The world and our family lost one of the greats! Love- Lynn

Jay & I met at a PASI BBQ. I knew I had to meet her because she was wearing a NOW cap. Well our stars aligned and we became friends. We agreed about so many things that Jay couldn't get a rise out of me. She was a feminist before Roe vs Wade. Jay and her sister Carol protested having animal acts in the circus and NYC horse-carriage rides. They generously supported TNR for feral cats in their neighborhood. Of course Jay had to do the driving back & forth to the vet. She encouraged me to become active in PASI where we not only protested the wars of the day but social & climate justice. Jay insisted protest signs be readable and neat.. Being an artist at heart she & Carol made many center pieces for PASI events. She accompanied to Albany to meet with Sen. Lanza for the MS society. Jay enjoyed going to the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Friday afternoons.
She investigated political candidates before endorsing them. Jay was an active Democrat for many years. Family always came first. She emanated nothing but love & respect for her children Tracy and James. I know her grandchildren Bruce and Beatrix are her first thought every day.
