Obituary of Albert J. Ferrara
Albert Joseph Ferrara
February 27,1927 – September 20, 2023
Loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and friend, Albert Ferrara 96, passed away on September 20, 2023. Born in Mariner’s Harbor, Staten Island in 1927, Albert was a lifelong Staten Islander.
Albert was a Merchant Marine in World War 2, stationed primarily in the Philippines and was honorably discharged. Upon arriving home from the War he met the love of his life, the late Evelyn Ferrara at Faber Pool. Albert worked as a truck driver, and retired with the DSNY as a machinist in the 1990’s. Upon retirement he worked for his son James, starting, and growing his business until retiring 2006.
He was an avid New York Giants fan, being a season ticket holder since 1946, having seen the team play in every stadium they called home. Albert loved traveling, specifically long drives to nowhere, getting lost and seeing new places. He had an addicting sense of humor always making those around him laugh.
Albert is the beloved husband of the late Evelyn Ferrara, cherished brother, dearest son of the late Giuseppe and Josephine Ferrara, and loving father of the late Victoria Ferrara, Joseph Ferrara, and Antoinette Ferrara.
Albert is survived by his daughter Catherine, son James, grandson Joseph, granddaughter Gianna, and great-grandchildren Harper, Mason, and Sebastian, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
