Obituary of Ralph Schettino

Ralph Schettino, 70, of Westerleigh, formerly of Hearland Village, passed away on October 20, 2023. He was the beloved son of the late Vincent and Catherine; dear brother of Bernard Schettino and Mary Ann Burke, and the late Joseph and Vincent Schettino. He was also survived by five nieces and one nephew. Mr. Schettino was born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn, and moved to Staten Island in 1998. He worked for the VA Hospital for a period of time. Ralph was an active member of Our Lady of Pity R.C. Church and was involved in The Knights of Columbus. He also attended various group activities with the VA Hospital in Brooklyn for many years. In addition, he served with the U.S. Marines in 1974, during the Vietnam era and also served with the Merchant Marines during Operation Desert Storm. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, departing at 10:00 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Pity R. C. Church at 10:30 am. Interment to follow in Ocean View Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
