Obituary of Juan F. Torres

Juan Francisco Torres, 73, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Alba Torres, loving father of Carolina Becerra and Paola Torres and exceptional grandfather to Olivia, Valentina, and Joseph. Juan was born in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras and moved to New York in 1981. He graduated as a Professor in General Studies and had numerous jobs while in Honduras that include air traffic controller, meteorologist and professor. In NYC, he worked nearly 30 years at the Plaza Hotel as a hospitality manager. He held a second job for many years so he was able to achieve his goal of buying a house for his family. His resilience and commitment became the foundation on which his loved ones built their dreams. He was a devout Christian and leader of his church who lived by the principles of faith, compassion, and love. His favorite pastime revolves around cherishing moments with his family and creating meaningful connections that became the heart of his joy and fulfillment.
