Neil Eigen posted a condolence

My name is Neil Eigen. I had the privilege of sitting 3 desks away from Lou for over 10years at the National Bank of Westchester in White Plains, NY. Lou was a great friend. As i sit here today over 40 years since i last saw him i can remember the suits and shoes he would wear to work. My memory of him is so vivid. He was a regular down to earth guy. I remember when his son Carl went off to MIT how nervous Ernestine was. Carl adjusted rather quickly according to Lou. I have thought about Lou numerous times over the years. Even though we didn’t see each other for many years, i will think of him witha smile on my face.He was one of the good ones

God bless the soul of Luciano, his wife, Ernestina and daughter and dear friend, Diane. Although I did not know him well, after reading his obituary, I realize why Diane was so proud of him. My sincerest condolences to the Giallombardo family.

Nannu was the best grandfather anyone could ever ask for. He was always there to make us laugh and cheer us on. I will miss his big hugs, his warm heart, and constant example of generosity. I’ll miss being his technical support and all the career and life advice. Knowing Nannu was truly knowing what it is to be loved.

Nannu was the best; that's all I can say. He was never short on advice of any kind, but don't try to play a game with him, because he would always find a way to "forget" the rules. As I have gotten older, I see so much of Nannu in my father, from his expressions to his mannerisms. Most importantly, though, I see his generous nature and habits of service to his family that define my father and my grandfather. I will miss my grandfather very much and keep his "S" cookie recipe alive (it's only for Sicilians. you know.)

"Luciano or Nanu as we called him was a kind, generous and loving grandad. He was cheerful and welcoming once I became part of the family. I will never forget the joy it brought to him the news of Joe and I getting engaged. No one celebrated our engagement more than Nanu. He will always be in our hearts. Thank you Nanu for sharing the love for painting with Joe and for being such a great example of a loving husband, father, grandfather."

Dear Uncle Louie

Luciano will never be forgotten for the support and brotherly friendship he exhibited to my husband during a difficult time. We shared some very good fun years together with him and Ernestine, vacationing, dining out and enjoying life. Memories that don’t fade. and that still bring a smile to my face 25 years later. May you rest in peace my dear friend…..you truly were a Special Man ….I’m smiling now thinking of the time that you came to my house with Ernestine, in an outfit resembling a Hazmat Suit to capture the possums that was.loose……..and capture it you did.
