Obituary of Diane R. Rathgeber

Diane R. Rathgeber of Graniteville, a retired New York City Board of Education public school teacher passed away peacefully at home on December 27th, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late David (2011), loving mother of Candice A. Conway and her husband Sean, and beloved grandmother of Emma Conway. Diane was born and raised in Staten Island, NY. She was a graduate of St. John Villa Academy. She graduated from The State University of New York at New Paltz earning her Master's Degree in Elementary Education. She worked for the NYC Board of Ed teaching at P.S. 138 in Brooklyn for one year followed by P.S. 20 in Port Richmond for the remainder of her career before retiring in 2003. She loved taking day trips with her friends, going to exercise classes at the YMCA, and most of all spending time with her beloved granddaughter. “She had a love of life and her family and friends meant everything to her. Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 2nd from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. A funeral mass will be Wednesday, January 3rd at 10:30AM at Holy Family Church, 366 Watchogue Road, Staten Island, NY 10314 with burial to follow at Ocean View Cemetery.
