Obituary of James R. Wright

James Wright passed away peacefully on January 13, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Kathleen, his brothers, and many nieces and nephews. Jim was a huge fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. He was a friend to all and was there for anyone who needed his help. Jim was a Vietnam veteran and proud to serve his country. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Titan League for many years. Jim visited a neighborhood firehouse at Christmas as well as several hospitals and Special Olympics Chapters to help distribute presents to children and young adults. He was an usher at Blessed Sacrament Church for more than 20 years and at one time was a member of the Parish Council. Family and friends may visit the Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd, Staten Island on Thursday, January 18, 2024 From 2-4 and 7-9PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at Blessed Sacrament Church at 10AM. A burial will follow at Moravian Cemetery.
