Obituary of Scott W. Homme
Scott W. Homme passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. He was 65 years old. He is survived by his sister Sue, brother Jeffrey, sister-in-law Linda and his nephew and godson, Matthew.
Scott’s work life was diverse. His first job was with Island Chevrolet, prepping new cars for delivery. After that he worked as a mechanic at Butler Aviation and then for Johanna Farms packaging company. He worked in a steel factory and on a farm in New Jersey caring for the animals. His passion for carpentry served him well during his work with Jay Quinn contracting company.
Despite his years of struggles and pain, Scott could build or repair anything. He was our go-to guy for all home and car repairs. He took his time as he worked, ensuring the end product met his high standard. Family traditions were important to Scott, especially around the holidays. He would make krumkake and apple pies, using his grandmother’s recipes. In recent years he enjoyed reminiscing about ‘old Staten Island’ and laughing as he recalled good times. Rest peacefully dear brother.
Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, 1/23, from 9:00 to 11:00 am. A service is scheduled for 11:00 am, with interment to follow in Ocean-View Cemetery.
