Obituary of Vito Susca, M.D.

Vito J. Susca, M.D.

July 13, 1953 - March 22, 2024

Vito J. Susca, age 70, of Brooklyn, New York, passed away on March 22, 2024. He was born in Mola di Bari, Italy, to Crescenza and Giovanni Susca and immigrated to the United States in 1964.

A distinguished graduate of Manhattan College and the Università di Roma Facoltà di Medicina, Vito graduated in 1981 and began his career in internal medicine. He was passionate about collecting rare stamps and coins and loved soccer and spending time with his friends in the coffee shops of Brooklyn.

Vito is survived by his loving children, Annalisa, Samantha, and Robert, whom he shared with former spouse Christine; his son-in-law Chez; his grandson Nico; his sister Francesca, brother-in-law Charles, and great-niece Ellie. He was well-known and respected in his communities both in New York and Italy. Revered by colleagues and loved and admired by patients, Vito devoted his life to taking care of others, making each patient feel they were his only one, and was known for making house calls day or night, holidays and weekends alike.
