Gerald's son Justin is my boss at work. Every boys dream is to have a dad like Mr. Feola. You can hear the pride in Justin's voice when he shares stories and memories about his dad. Our only perfect dad is our heavenly Father but he sure blessed Justin the next best thing. Love you Justin! You're the son of a Man's Man. You honor him with your marriage, your family and your love for him and your mom.
Love you brother!

When I first met Jerry on the hanger bay 15 yrs ago hew was larger than life with that big beaming smile that can guide ships like a lighthouse in a foggy harbor!! He saw my forrestal hat and we connected instantly! He took me to the flight deck and showed me where he was standing below his aircraft watching my Ship burning in the horizon. His CPO saw him and wanted to get the film but just like Jerry he told him where he could go fly!! Lol . My sincerest condolences to Arlene and family and Former crew members and friends. Fair winds and following seas my friend!! You will be missed!! Say hello to the boys!

I remember attending a bible study on Heaven with Jerry , and we were all amazed at what the Lord Jesus was preparing for us. Now Jerry is experiencing it first hand .
You helped me and Lorraine in difficult times with raising our sons. I will always be grateful.
Heaven only knows how many you have helped in your many years of counseling
Well Done Jerry .. Good and Faithful Servant
See you soon ❤️❤️❤️

To a hero I never had the honor to personally visit. But was able to speak to him personally. He possessed warmth joy and such a presence of compassion for his family and God. He adored his family that was highly represented in his words. Along with his love for his son. Who is a direct reflection of his greatness. God called you home to be amongst all the other heroes.

Gerald you have been my hero since I've been a kid, I always looked up to you and your brothers Bobby and Steven . We grew up on a very special block in Brooklyn where our family lived. Four homes filled with family, holidays where always great. We were welcome in whoever's house you went to. I remember you going to Nam, we were all so worried about you and couldn't wait for you to come home. I was so proud of you cousin. Then you joined the FDNY and again I was proud to see you graduate. Again I was so proud. But I've never been more proud of you than in the last months watching you bravely fight the cancer. You told me that you can't wait to meet Jesus, and then passing on good Friday your faith was so strong again I was proud and amazed. I hope that when my time comes that I have half the faith that you have. I love you cousin may you rest in the arms of Jesus, till we meet again.

My heart felt condolences to the Feola family. Jerry was a very special man indeed. He freely shared his experiences with the young visitors at the Intrepid Museum, helping them understand the sacrifices of the sailors that served alongside him during the Vietnam War. He did this by openly sharing his personal letters and through his remarkable story telling abilities. We miss you Jerry, you leave behind a great legacy, a loving family, and also an extended family of fellow veterans and Intrepid Museum staff.

My condolences to the Feola family. Although I served on Intrepid with Jerry we never met in person until we both participated in a Veterans Day Special filmed on the ship in 2022. In the show, he points out a letter of his that is on display in the museum. God Bless Shipmate! Charlie Wladyka Intrepid FCM 65-69.
