A heart of gold and a smile so bright is a memory that will never fade away.
Debra Taylor departed this life on June 26, 2024 at Calvary Hospital in Bronx NY.
She was the eldest of 2 children born October 14, 1956 in Manhattan, NY to the late Doris Carter and Earl Smoake. Her brother Joseph Carter preceded her in death. She had 2 children, Jason Taylor and the late Brian Taylor.
She received her education in the NYC Public School System, graduating from Morris High School in 1974. She then continued to further her education at Brooklyn College until 1976. In 1977, she married her best friend, Robert Taylor. She loved to cook, play cards and spend time with family and friends. She had a heart of gold, and a smile that would light up the room.
In 1985 she became a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses organization where she served as a faithful member up until her death. She made many friends and attended the meetings when physically able to do so. As a faithful servant of Jehovah, she applied and followed all the scriptures up until her death.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son Jason Taylor, her 4 grandchildren, Cameron Taylor, Marquis Taylor, Christopher Taylor, and Breonna Taylor, her uncle Johnnie Carter, her brother-in-law Darrin Taylor, her niece Amanda Carter and a host of cousins and other family and friends who had a special connection to her.
Family and Friends may visit the Matthew Funeral Home 2508 Victory Blvd. Staten Island, NY on Sunday July 7 from 11:30am-3PM with a service at 12:30PM.
