Obituary of Ruth M. Schlieper
Ruth M. Schlieper, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024. She was the beloved mother of Denise Sollena (Jerome Alvarado), Doreen Pratts (Jayson), Ruthie Malpeso (James), and the late Eva Marie Veneziano. She was the loving Granny of Matthew, Christopher Sr., Alexandra, Ariel, Sia, Anthony, CJ, Victoria, Cassandra, Joseph, Nicholas, Xavier, Angel, Ayden and the late Michael. She was the devoted great granny of Christopher Jr., Mia, Michael, Ella, Noah, Luca and Emma Marie. She was the cherished sister of Florence Gaddis and the late Carol Sullivan. She was the dear mother in law of the late Carmine and Matthew. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Howard Beach, Queens, Ruth was a strong, determined and hardworking woman. Ruth was a talented seamstress, beautician, and gardener and always had the ability to craft something special out of nothing. She was a pillar of strength and resilience, embodying tremendous character and unwavering values. Her life was a testament to the power of love, compassion, and selflessness, serving as a guiding light and source of inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to know her. In every act of kindness, in every moment of love shared, Ruth's spirit will continue to live on, a timeless legacy of beauty, grace, and unwavering devotion. Though she may have bid us farewell, her memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who were blessed to call her Mommy, Granny, Sister, and Friend.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Wednesday, 7/17/2024, departing at 10:15 am. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rita's Church at 11:00 am. Family and friends may visit on 7/16/2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
