Obituary of Charles R. Mancinelli

Charles Ralph Mancinelli, fondly known as Daddy, Poppy Charlie, or Charlie, 85 years old, of Staten Island, New York, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024, surrounded by family at home. He is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Marianne Mancinelli. He is survived by his daughter, Christina DiVincenzo, her fiance, Brian Connors, his daughter, Deanna Peterson, her husband, James, and his son, Daniel Anderson, along with his sister and brother, Theresa Mott and Alfred Mancinelli. A proud Poppy of eight grandchildren, Nicole DiVincenzo, Marissa DiVincenzo, Joseph DiVincenzo Jr., Alexis Mae Sisonick, Ava Jennie Sisonick, Ally Marie Sisonick, Dylan Thomas Anderson, and Molly Coraline Anderson, and one great-grandson, Nicholas Joseph Haas, his family was the center of his life. In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by his mother and father, Jennie and Charles Mancinelli Sr., and daughter-in-law, Carol Anderson.

Charlie, a 1956 St. Peter's High School graduate in Staten Island, New York, embarked on a journey of service and dedication. After serving as an electronic technician for a government defense plant, he joined the United States Air Force on active duty, followed by reserve duty for the United States National Guard. His commitment to service continued as he worked for a business machine company and then began his long career as a New York State Court Officer. He served the state with pride for 25 years, retiring at the rank of Captain.

Charlie's life was marked by his unwavering love for his family and friends, heart of gold, infectious sense of humor, fondness for cheese, and undying passion for the New York Yankees. His younger years were filled with lifting weights and jogging along the paths at Oakwood Beach. As we bid him farewell, we can almost hear the golden oldies playing in the background while he enjoys a huge cheese wedge and watches his beloved Yankees play for eternity. Run that marathon now, Dad.

Visitation will be at Matthew Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral departing Thursday at 8:45am with a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace at 9:30am.
