Obituary of Ivan Cizin
Ivan Cizin, 91, from Richmond passed away on July 21,2024. He was predeceased by his wife Jane. He was the loving father of Mira, Branka and Jane. He is survived by his siblings Danica (late Sal), Miro (late Katherine), Vera (Milan). He was a Brother in Law to Max Nikolic (late Grgica) and the late Don Tomislav Bondulic. He was a Dear Uncle to many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
He was born on the island of Olib, Croatia, formerly known as Yugoslavia. He served 3 years as a captain in the Yugoslavian Navy, where he travelled all over the Adriatic Sea.
Ivan immigrated to the US in 1965 with his wife and 2 daughters. He worked as a Rigger Supervisor in Brewer's Dry Dock and Jackson Engineering.
His hobbies were Boating, growing his own tomatoes and breeding canaries. He loved fishing, he was a great fisherman.
Ivan enjoyed travelling to Croatia and spending time with family and friends there. He always had a smile on his face. He was the best father anyone could ask for, he loved his daughters very much. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, 8/2, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's R.C. Church at 10:00 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friend may visit on Thursday, 8/1, from 3:00 to 9:00 pm.
