Obituary of Lawrence L. Barisciano

Lawrence L. Barisciano

September 28, 1951 – October 29, 2024

The family of Lawrence L. Barisciano, adoringly known as Larry, is saddened to announce his sudden passing at the age of 73. He peacefully passed while surrounded by his loving family and friends at Staten Island Hospital.

Larry was born in Staten Island, New York to the late Angelo and Madeline Barisciano. He was the oldest of five children. Larry was an avid lover of all sports, playing catcher for Great Kills Little League at a young age, and continued into high school. He attended Port Richmond High School, graduating Class of 1969.

After high school, Larry worked as a construction foreman. Subsequently he began his long career with MTA, working in multiple positions in the organization; his most prevalent role being a bus driver. After his retirement from MTA, Larry continued driving for multiple colleges, including Rutgers and College of Staten Island. Up until his passing, Larry worked for Vinny's Bus Service.

Larry is survived by his beloved children Annemarie, her husband Joseph; Lawrence, his wife Nicole; and Sabrina; his grandchildren Curtis James, Giada, Brianna, and Lawrence; and his siblings Robert, Kathy, and Richard; his sister-in-laws Donna, Cindy, and Janet; and his nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Michael.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had many close friendships where he regularly joined his friends for breakfast, lunches and special occasions. He loved watching sports, especially his favorite teams: NY Giants, NY Yankees, NY Knicks and NY Rangers. Tough on the exterior, but warm and sensitive on the inside, he will sorely be missed.

A visitation will be held on: Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10314, from 2:00PM - 7:00PM. Funeral Mass: Monday, November 4, 2024 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1091 Forest Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10310 at 11:00AM.
