Obituary of Ignatius "Nat" Impellizzeri

Ignatius “Nat” Impellizzeri, beloved father, grandfather, friend, and community member, passed away on November 3, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on September 27, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York, Nat moved to Staten Island as a child, where he would go on to build a full and active life dedicated to family, friends, and community.

Nat was a proud and loyal member of many organizations, including over 30 years as a member and officer of the Elks Lodge, a member of the Staten Island Yacht Club, Richmond County Yacht Club, and, in his younger days, the Dragons Motorcycle Club from 1950 to 1960. His love for adventure and camaraderie extended into his service in the United States Armed Forces, where he served from 1961-1963.

Nat was an avid traveler, fisherman, and golfer over the years. He enjoyed spending time on his boat and in Atlantic City, where he cherished the thrill of the games.

Nat is survived by his three sons, Bill, Anthony (wife Fran), and Nicholas, who carry forward his values of adventure and love. He was a proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Anthony (wife Emma), Kristi (husband Joseph), Joe, and Jenna, each of whom will forever hold cherished memories of their grandfather.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Nat’s life at Matthew Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 6, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 7, at 9:30 a.m., followed by interment at All Faiths Cemetery, Queens, NY.

Nat will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his unwavering love, his loyalty to family and friends, and his joy for life. May he rest in peace.
