Obituary of Saubhagya Uchhana
In Loving Memory of Saubhagya Uchhana (December 18, 1939 – November 5, 2024)
With profound sorrow and heartfelt reverence, we announce the passing of Saubhagya Uchhana, a devoted husband, cherished father, beloved grandfather, and a beacon of love and kindness. Born on December 18, 1939, Saubhagya graced this world with a spirit as vibrant as it was kind. He left us on November 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and visionary accomplishments that touched countless lives.
An accomplished electrical engineer by profession, Saubhagya was a man of ingenuity, determination, and boundless ambition. His career journey led him to incredible business ventures that highlighted his innovative and fearless spirit. He embarked on bold projects, including moviemaking in Bollywood. His ventures reached across borders with international construction projects that showcased his keen business acumen and leadership, creating opportunities and lasting impact.
One of Saubhagya's proudest achievements was the creation of the Cigar Aficion premium lounge in New York City, a refined space built with Usha's partnership and shared vision. This venture became a testament to their love for sophistication and their ability to blend tradition with modern luxury, creating a community, and providing a space where people from all walks of life could come together and share moments of joy and camaraderie.
Saubhagya’s zest for life was evident in his passion for travel and his love of meeting new people. He possessed an innate ability to find joy in human connection, extending warmth to all he encountered. His compassion was boundless, touching the lives of family members, friends, and even strangers, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
A man deeply rooted in his heritage, Saubhagya held a profound appreciation for classical Indian music and ghazals, finding peace and expression in their soulful melodies. His cultured nature and love for art enriched the lives of his loved ones and created moments of beauty and reflection.
Above all, Saubhagya valued his family. He embraced his role as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always working tirelessly to support and uplift those he held dear. Despite the loss of his beloved Usha in October 2009, he continued to lead his family with strength and grace, finding solace in the deep bonds of love they had built together. His greatest pride was found in the relationships he nurtured and the love he shared. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but for the immense heart that guided each of his days.
Saubhagya’s legacy lives on through his three children—Mamta Mullick, Raj Uchhana, and Tripti Uchhana—and his adoring grandchildren, Abhinav, Anuj, Anisha, Aaryan, Ashia, and Aria, each carrying forward his spirit of warmth, resilience, and love.
As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we honor his memory by embracing life as he did—with open arms, an open heart, and an enduring love for one another. Saubhagya’s presence will be missed, but his light will forever illuminate our paths.
Rest in peace, dear Saubhagya. Your journey on earth has ended, but your story continues in the hearts of those you touched.
