Obituary of Stewart Librizzi

Stewart Librizzi, born on March 9, 1945, in Manhattan, passed away on November 6, 2024, in Florida at the age of 79.

A life well-lived, Stewart was a proud husband, father, and grandfather. He spent his formative years in Brooklyn and on Staten Island , where he built a career as a dedicated and respected bus driver for the city—a role he embraced until his retirement. Stewart's easygoing nature and common-sense approach to life endeared him to many.
An ardent fan of the New York Yankees, Stewart could often be found cheering for his favorite team, a passion he shared with friends and family. Above all, he was a man who believed in the power of community and the importance of being there for others.
Stewart regularly attended Sunday mass. Family meant everything to Stewart. He was a devoted grandparent, relishing the moments spent taking his cherished granddaughter Alexa and her cousin Myla, who he also considered a granddaughter, to school.

He was a rock for his family and friends, ever-present and willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Stewart's life was a testament to quiet strength and gentle perseverance.

Stewart's beloved wife, Maryann, and his siblings Lenny and Gloria have predeceased him. He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness through his son, Peter, his daughter, Lisa, his son in law, Anthony and granddaughter Alexa. They will continue to cherish the memories of a father and grandfather who nurtured and supported them unconditionally.

Stewart's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit and joy for life will live on.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. on Saturday, 11/23/2024. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home at 7:30 PM.
