Obituary of Roy Eidhammer

Roy Eidhammer 92, A Korean War Veteran, died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, December 8th. Born and raised in Brooklyn to Lilly and Alf Eidhammer, he was an only child, a graduate of P.S. 104, and Alexander Hamilton High School. He was a summer resident at Lake Telemark, NJ where he met his wife Lillian. They were childhood sweethearts who were married at 59th Street Church, Brooklyn and married for 69 years. They moved to Staten Island in 1960. He was an avid woodcarver, a board member at the Norwegian Children's Home Association of Greater NY, and a past board member of the Norwegian American Parade Committee of Greater, NY. He worked at Beards Erie Basin, New York Telephone Co, and ended his career as a Manager for A T & T where he retired in 1989. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church for over 60 years. He is survived by his wife Lillian nee Carlsen, his daughter Lorraine Carilli (Frank), his son Russell, three grandchildren, Jamilee, Kristofer (Stephanie), Jessica Carilli and nine great-grandchildren, David, Sofia, Emmalee, Lena, Bryce, Emma, Tristan, Aubree, Mia, and McKenzie. Aso surviving are his brother-in-law John Carlsen and family and several cousins in Norway. A Memorial Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church Staten Island on Saturday, December 14 at 12 PM noon. Memorial gifts can be given to Zion Lutheran Church or any organization of your choice.
