Obituary of Norberto Z. Matias

Norberto Z. Matias, age 70, passed away on May 31, 2018. He resided in Bulls Head in Staten Island. Norberto will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 51 years, Victoria, as well as his children Veronica and her husband Don, Velynda and her husband Paul, and Norman. He will also be fondly remembered by his two grandchildren, Thomas and Nicholas. He was the step grandfather of Alexa and Ashley. He was the dear brother of five siblings. Norberto was born in Sta. Rosa, Nueva Ecija in the Philippines in 1948. Norberto and his wife Victoria, along with their three children, started a life together in the United States in 1985. He and his wife traveled back to the Philippines at least once a year to visit family members, but especially to spend time with his beloved brothers and sisters. Besides spending time with his family, he also loved to go bowling and playing pool. His favorite shows were those that featured anything about cars, and the two things most people didn't know about him was that he loved to sing karaoke and dance. Funeral from Matthew Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd., on Monday June 4th departing at 9 am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pity RC Church at 9:30 am. Cremation will follow at Rosehill Crematory, Linden, New Jersey. Family and friends may visit Sunday 2-5 & 7-10 pm.
