Obituary of Virginia I. Pellegrino

Virginia I. Pellegrino (nee Parlapiano), age 83, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2018, at Eger Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Frank (2007); loving mother of Denise Ciluffo and her husband, Anthony, Gina D'Onghia and her husband, Anthony, and Michele Michalos and her husband, Takis; cherished grandmother of Jason Ciluffo and his wife, Erica, Daniel Ciluffo and his wife, Anastasia, Michael Ciluffo and his wife, Gina, Kathryn D'Onghia, Nicole D'Onghia, Alexis Michalos, and Krystina Michalos. She was preceded in death by her four siblings. Virginia was born in Brooklyn, in 1934, and was raised in the Williamsburg section. She also lived in Astoria, Queens, and Staten Island. She was a graduate of John Dewey High School. Virginia was a homemaker and in her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo and bowling. Mrs. Pellegrino was also a member of The Catholic Daughters of America. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, departing at 9:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 am, at Holy Family R.C. Church. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Woodside, NY. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 8:30 am to 9:30 am.
