Obituary of Ann J. Acquesta

Ann Acquesta, age 87, of Mariner's Harbor, passed away suddenly on July 8, 2018 at Richmond University Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph (1994); loving mother of Susan Fiel and her boyfriend Vincent Conti, and Grace Oliva and her boyfriend Steven DePalma; cherished grandmother of Vincent Oliva and Richard Fiel and his girlfriend Justine Giordano; devoted great-grandmother of Ella Marie Fiel; dear sister of Michael Desiato, Louie Desiato, Dominic Desiato, Sal Desiato, Tony Desiato, and John Desiato, Margaret Madalone (Junior), Mary Ferone, the late Rose Pietromanco, the late Angelina Scaramuzzi, Antoinette Parisi, and Tessie Garzone. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ann was born on Staten Island in 1930. She was born and raised in Port Richmond and is an alumna of Port Richmond High School. Ann was employed for 25 years as an Administrative Assistant for the Alfred Coneghan Importing/Exporting Company. Being active in her community she taught CCD at St. Michael's R.C. Church and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. Ann was a diehard Yankees fan and had an affinity for cooking and entertaining for the holidays. She made delicious Monicotti. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 11 am. Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 11:30 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
