I just found out today that Roy passed away. I wish I knew right away. My husband Drew and I love him very much. I’ve known Roy for about 25 years and he was an amazing friend protector and boss. Roy and his entire family are incredibly decent human beings. I remember Roy and his brother Stephen always trying to help others & making all of us laugh! His parents and sister and her kids were so kind to anybody that walked into the deli. My greatest memory of Roy was when he saved me one night from a very dangerous situation. He made sure I was OK and got me home safely. Roy is not one to brag, but he has done many things for people. I want to share with u if it wasn’t for Roy I don’t know if I’d be here today. Not only is Roy an outstanding human being but he was exceptionally funny, caring and he always went out of his way to make you feel very comfortable. I believe I have been blessed to have known Roy. Roy was a really cool cousin and my sister Ingerid and I first got to know him when we moved here from Norway in 1993. He was a true gentleman and made sure his cousins from Norway knew where it was good to visit in NYC and Brooklyn. We loved getting together with him and his friends. I know our Dad, Einar would want to chime in too but I'm pretty sure they're up in heaven together and fishing already. Bless you and stay strong during this very difficult time. Sending love and condolenses to Alfred and Helene and the Bakke family here from everyone in Norway, including Kari, Eva and Ingerid.
