Janet and Robyn and family. Know that Billy had a second family with all those he worked with on the NYPD. He was well respected and it was a privilidge to work for him. My respect for him blossomed into a friendship that lasts to this day. I am deeply sad of his passing. My condolences to you on his passing.

I had the pleasure of being a classmate of Billy since 1st grade PS 22 , JHS 51 and Port Richmond HS all Staten Island. Neither of us were in the “in crowd” as Billy reminded me when I last saw him at Family Fruit in the spring and he devastated me with his health report. After HS I ran into him at Old Slip Station House when he was in Narcotics. With a face like his, that’s where he belonged. Last time on the job that I saw him was at a THV at Crown Heights Riots 1992. Billy always made you feel like there was never any time that had passed from the last time you saw each other. Never a bad word to say about anyone. Always smiling. I have only fond memories of my time spent with him whenever we ran into each other. Condolences to his daughters and his family. That is one fine, unforgettable man in a heaven I can only imagine! Until we meet again....Rest In Peace!

I first met Billy when I was assigned to FTU 10 Bklyn South as a rookie in 1989. He was a great boss and always a gentleman. He was always there for us and taught us the job along with his FTU Sgts. God bless Billy and his family.

When people talk about the best & or "Finest" this man is at the top of the totem pole! Not just as a cop/boss, but as a human being. Could handle any situation, any time, any where. The NYPD should make Billy the poster cop/boss of what every cop/boss should be.
RIP-Billy

Billy was the consummate gentleman. I knew him as a trainee in UC/NB (undercover/Narcotics Bureau) in 1968 and then throughout his career. He was the best of all of us. I was lucky enough to see him last week. I’m grateful for that. God Bless You Billy. You are loved by more than you could ever know.
