Obituary of Angelo Martino

Angelo Martino, age 75, of Annadale, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away on November 8, 2018, at Staten Island University South. He was the beloved husband of Anna for 51 years; loving father of Agatha Marino and her husband, Vincent, Onofrio Martino and his wife, Frances, Teresa Kalina and her husband, Michael; cherished grandfather of AnnaMaria Martino, Vincent Marino, Nicholas Marino, Angelo Martino, Joseph Marino and Christopher Kalina; dear brother of Antonio Martino, Maria Martino, Antonia Candiano, Stefano Martino, Francesco Martino, Giuseppe Martino, Silvia Caraccioli, late Vincenzo Martino, late Carmelo Martino, and the late Anna Cellura. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Martino was born in Licata, Sicily, Italy in 1943, and emigrated to the United States at age 22, settling in Downtown Brooklyn, and then Bensonurst, Brooklyn, before moving to Staten Island two years ago. He was employed for 44 years as a Long Shoreman, for the ILA. Angelo loved gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Saturday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family R.C. Church at 9:45 am. Entombment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday from 4:00 to 9:00 pm.
