Obituary of Anita M. Romano
Anita M. Romano (nee Ruberto), age 75, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2019. She was the wife of the late Charles Romano (1997); loving mother of Charles Romano and his wife, Lisa; cherished grandmother of Charles John and Jenna Marie Romano; dear sister of Diane Marrocco and her husband, Ralph, Beverly Roberts (late Bob), Mary Beth Hayes and her husband, George, and the late Sonny Ruberto; devoted daughter of the late John and Ethel Ruberto. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
Anita was born in West Brighton in 1943, and later moved to Mariner's Harbor in 1963. She was a graduate of Curtis High School. Mrs. Romano worked as a Mental Health Therapy Aide for Staten Island Developmental Disabilities Services Office –Willowbrook State School. Later she moved on to work for South Beach Psychiatric Center and retired in 1998. Some of her hobbies included camping and collecting ceramic roosters. She was known by her family and friends for her famous greeting cards and was a member of AARP.
Funeral Service at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Thursday at 10 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 10:00 pm.
