Obituary of Marvella "Joyce" A. Rosa
Marvella "Joyce" Rosa, 77, of Willowbrook, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2019, at home, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Dr. Robert Rosa for 57 years; loving mother of Donna LaBella (Kenneth), Darlene Rosa, Dawn Romano (David), Danielle Ghiraldi (Gerard) and the late Robert Rosa, Jr.; cherished grandmother of Kenneth, Tamara, Robert, David, Cody, Christopher and Stephen; devoted great-grandmother of Giada and Alivia; dear sister of Patrick Danza (Sandra), Marion Terlizzi, and the late Rocky Scott, devoted daughter of Marion Scott and the late Richard Hutton. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Rosa was born on November 20, 1941 in Bridgeton, New Jersey and mostly raised on Staten Island and Willowbrook. She was a graduate of the Murphy High School in Augusta, Georgia. Marvella worked full time with Carl M. Loeb Rhodes & Co. in her younger years. She then retired to raise her five children and later returned to the work force by working as a Dental Assistant for her husband's dental practice. Some of her hobbies included country dancing, reading, and crossword puzzles. She also volunteered her time by teaching first grade CCD at St. Adalbert's Parish, along with her husband.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Tuesday, departing at TBA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Adalbert's R.C. Church TBA. Committal service to follow in Rosehill Crematory. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
