Obituary of Elina L. Mazzei Siebel

Elina Lolita Mazzei Siebel passed away on February 4, 2019. She was born in 1947 in the Bronx, New York to Michelina Rizzo and Santino Mazzei. After graduating from the College of Mount St. Vincent, she met the love of her life, Robert Siebel, while they were both studying for their Masters of Social Work at Fordham University. Upon obtaining her masters, Elina dedicated her life to helping others. She worked as a social worker in the foster care system in New York City before transitioning to a career as a teacher specializing in early childhood education. Elina lived in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Staten Island and served on the board of directors of Adelphi Academy in Brooklyn. She leaves behind her husband, Robert, her son Justin, her daughter in law Lana and grandson James Siebel. She is also survived by her three sisters – Tina Kohlman, Nadine Mazzei and Fran Anzalone-Wimmer and a host of nieces and nephews. The wake for Elina will be held on Sunday, February 10, 2019 from 4:00PM to 9:00PM at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10314. The funeral will be held at 10:00AM on Monday, February 11, 2019 at St. Andrews the Apostle Church, 6713 Ridge Boulevard, Brooklyn, New York 11220. Entombment will follow in Ascension Cemetery, 650 Sadle River Road, Airmont, NY.
