Obituary of Paul Cortapasso

Paul Cortapasso, age 53, of Linden, NJ, formerly of South Beach, Staten Island, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2019, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Iris R. (nee Torres) for 30 years; loving father of Paul Cortapasso, Jr., and his wife, Emily, and Joseph Robert Cortapasso; cherished grandfather of Krystiana Rose. Mr. Cortapasso was born in Brooklyn in 1966 and raised in the Kensington neighborhood. He was a graduate of the Edward R. Morrow High School in Brooklyn and furthered his education at Kingsborough Community College in Brooklyn. He worked for the last 17 years with the TBTA, most recently as a Lieutenant, at the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge. Some of his hobbies included gardening, cooking, baking, and going to the range. His favorite things to do in life was be with his wife and granddaughter. Memorial Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Sunday, 2/24, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
