Obituary of Craig P. Anderson

Craig Peter Anderson died on February 24,2019 in Pensacola, FL at the age of 55.

Craig is survived by his father, Peter Anderson of Staten Island, NY; his daughter and son-in-law, Carly and Ben Briggs of Clifton Park, NY; his sister, Karen Anderson; his brothers and sisters-in-law Brian and Christine Anderson, and Mark and Nancy Anderson; his nephews, Nicholas, Kyle, Erik,Tyler and Connor Anderson. He is preceded in death by his mother, Jean Anderson.

Craig was born on September 16, 1963 in Staten Island, NY. He attended PS 22 and Port Richmond High School. He married Claudia DePamphilis in 1986 and they welcomed their first and only child, Carly Jean, the same year. Craig served in the United States Navy as a Communications Technician, Petty Officer First Class from 1993 until 2004 with postings in Norfolk, VA, Pensacola, FL, and Yokosuka, Japan. He earned a bachelors degree and a masters degree in electrical engineering from the University of West Florida. Craig went to work for QMotion Advanced Shading Company where he was granted two patents: Electrostatic discharge protection system for window coverings and Motorized roller shade or blind having an antenna and antenna cable connection. He most recently worked as an instructor and lab technician at the University of West Florida, Fort Walton Beach campus.

Craig was an active and dedicated member of Vision Church in Fort Walton Beach. He also had strong ties to Freedom Church in Pensacola where he participated in a mission trip to Nuevo Laredo, Mexico in April 2018. He was an avid fisher and enjoyed target practice at the gun range. Craig loved to hit the road, especially on his Harley Davidson.

Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 5:00-9:00pm at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd.,Staten Island, New York. On Friday, March 1, 2019 departing the funeral home at 10:15 AM. Burial will be held at Moravian Cemetery with lunch to follow at noon at Café Bella Vita,1919 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Craig's life.
