Obituary of Amelia Virginia Campbell

Amelia Virginia Campbell (nee Luongo), devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend; passed away peacefully surrounded by family in her home on March 23, 2019.

 

Surviving is her husband, Kenneth, children: Marie and her husband Frank Fonseca, Teresa and her husband David Rampulla, and her son Vincent.  She has been blessed with 7 grandchildren: Sage, Ami, Siena Marie, Isobel Rose and Vittoria, Hana and Naya.  Cherished Godmother to both Marla (Volpe) and Rachel (Luongo).  Survived by her brother John Luongo, and many adored nieces and nephews.

 

Predeceased by her sister, Frances (Mosquera), Brother Carmine (Luongo) and parents Rachel and Francis Luongo.

She worked at the Chamber of Commerce for 19 years sharing her business wisdom with the Staten Island Community.  She loved decorating and worked at Sears as Interior Designer for many years.  She was very artistic and was an avid reader, writer and poet.  She was the family photographer always capturing the ideal moments for all our family to treasure.  She remembered all of the special moments in the lives of her family and friends. She attended the YMCA religiously and made friends wherever she went.  She was a proud Alumni of Port Richmond high school and never missed a reunion. 

She loved Friday dates and dinner dances and to plan and travel with her devoted husband Kenneth.   Whether going down the Colorado Rapids or trips to Europe she cherish their adventures together.  Before she passed her husband fulfilled her wish of traveling to Paris with her daughters and niece.  She will be missed by all.  

In addition to flowers donations can be made to University Hospice in her name. 

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., on Thursday, departing at 9:15 am.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Roch’s R.C. Church at 10 am.  Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday and Wednesday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
