Obituary of Anastasia G. Diaz
Anastasia G. Diaz, 89, passed away suddenly on April 20, 2019. She was the beloved wife of the late Miguel Diaz; loving mother of the late Marlene A. Diaz; cherished grandmother of Margaretha A. DeJesus; dear sister of Maria Wallewski, and Isabel Gamboa. She was predeceased by five siblings. Fond aunt of Juan Rodriguez and his wife, Gail; devoted great-aunt of Alexandra Rodriguez.
Mrs. Diaz was born and raised in Peru, and came to the United States in the late 1950's. She became an official U.S. Citizen in 1993. Anastasia was a caring person who devoted her life to caring for children as a Nanny. Some of her hobbies included cooking and crocheting. In her youth she enjoyed sewing. She was a very religious person, who was a member of St. Rita's R.C. Parish.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita's R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
