Obituary of Stefano Catalano

Stefano Catalano, 88, passed peacefully on May 1, 2019. Stefano is survived by and was the beloved husband of Donata; loving father to his children Giovanni, Nicola, Maria, and Giacomo and their spouses; and a loving nonno to his 10 grandchildren. He will be missed by his many family and friends. Stefano Catalano, born and raised in Mola di Bari, Italy. He worked as construction worker, later on worked also as seaman. He arrived in New York City in 1963 and worked as a longshore man for 33 years. Additionally, he was the president of an Italian social club from his hometown, Mola di Bari. Mr. Catalano enjoyed spending time with his family every Sunday, rooting for his favorite soccer club "A.C Milan", most of all he enjoyed his espresso. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy child R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, from 3:00 to 8:00 pm.
