Obituary of Edward V. Curtis

Edward V. Curtis, 78, of South Beach, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2019, at Golden Gate Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.  He was the beloved husband of the late Domenica Curtis (2018); loving father of Edward J. Curtis and his wife, Rosebeth, and John J. Curtis and his wife, Carol Ann; cherished grandfather  of Kristina, Daniella, John, Michael, and Christopher Curtis; dear brother of Joan LeGrand and predeceased by Raymond, George, James and Donald.  Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Mr. Curtis was born in Brooklyn in 1940, raised in Park Slope, and graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School.  He relocated to Staten Island in 1970, with his wife, mother and brother.  Edward was self employed in the construction industry and retired as an employee from Wagner College.  He was a great provider for his family and in his spare time he enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and Monmouth Racetrack.  Edward also rooted for the NY Mets and Giants.  He was extremely proud of his grandchildren.

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, 5/31, departing at 9:15 am.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita’s R.C. Church at 10 am.  Private cremation to follow.  Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, 5/30, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
