Obituary of Marina Steven Christy

Marina Steven Christy, 47, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family on May 26, 2019.  She was the beloved daughter of Nirmala and the late Steven Christy, dear sister of Celina S. Christy and Robert Christy and his wife, Niketa; devoted aunt of Fiza and Mica Christy; cherished niece of 11 aunts and 9 uncles.  She was also survived by many loving cousins and friends.

Marina was born in India.  She earned two Bachelor’s Degrees in India, one in Computer Science and the other one in Commerce.   She emigrated to the United States in 2002, settling in Brooklyn, before relocating to Staten Island in 2018.  Marina was working toward pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing after moving to the U.S.  Ms. Christy was employed at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn since 2002, as a Nursing Technician.  Some of her hobbies included singing and cooking.  Marina loved to entertain her family and friends with her cooking and baking.  She was the ultimate hostess.  No one would ever leave her house hungry.  Marina had a sincere love for children and has touched so many people’s lives, with her unconditional love and caretaking.

Visitation at the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.  Service at 9:30 am Saturday at the Funeral Home, with interment to follow in Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, NJ.
