Obituary of James C. Ludwig
James C. Ludwig, age 81, of Manchester, NJ, formerly of Brooklyn and Staten Island, passed away at his home on October 17, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Arlene Ludwig for 52 years, who predeceased him in 2014. James was also the loving father of Liz Harrison and her husband, Brian, and Colleen Macaluso and her husband, John; cherished grandfather of Samantha and Michael Macaluso; dear brother of the late Betty Basso; fond brother-in-law of Joe Basso. He was also survived by his devoted sweetheart and companion, Janice Steininger. He will be greatly remembered by his many friends.
Jimmy was born and raised in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn and moved to the Country Walk Community in Manchester, NJ in 2005, where he loved to spend time at the pool. He enjoyed being the “head cook” at the neighborhood barbeques and played Texas Hold’em with his many friends.
After serving in the military and army reserves, Jimmy made his career as a skilled and talented film editor which he had a passion for. He worked for many years on shows such as ABC-TV’s “American Sportsman”, where he won awards for his work on and the Amazon and hot air balloons expeditions involving famous celebrities, to which he was very proud. In addition, he was the editor for the channel 13 children’s TV show “321 Contact”, as well as the Mutual of Ohama’s Wild Kingdom with Jacques Cousteau.
James will be remembered by all for his killer smile and for being the life of the party.
