Obituary of Joseph F. Favor
Retired police detective and cherished family man Joseph F. Favor Jr. passed away Monday, June 17th, 2019 surrounded by his family after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Joseph is survived by his wife Carol(Kenavan); his children Tracy(Murphy), Joseph, Carrie, Michael and Brian; his sister Annie(Lee); cousin/sister Susie(O'Neill)and seven grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Joseph was born on September 26, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY, son to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Favor. Joseph attended St. Augustine HS, New York Community College and was then drafted into the US Army in 1969, where he was stationed in Germany.
Joseph joined the NYPD in 1973 and served for 20 years, retiring in 1993 as a Detective in the NY Drug Enforcement Agency.
Joseph Favor loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and always remembered for his songs, his huge heart and 'larger than life' personality.
A memorial service to honor Joseph will be held on Thursday, June 27 at Matthew Funeral Home, 2508 Victory Blvd, Staten Island from 2-5 pm.
