Ralph was so generous with his time and really listened and seemed to care about people and helped me personally through a very tough time. I was thinking of him and was going to send a card to him when I saw this wonderfully written obituary. The world was a better place because of him.
God bless his family, and may he rest in peace.

From the moment I met Ralph, I felt an instant connection to him. A kind, warm, loving and very talented man. Witnessing the beautiful relationship that he had with Susan, and their admiration, loyalty and love for one another was a beautiful thing to see. Ralph Santiago, you will be very missed by so many. Rest easy with the angels.

Tears are streaming down my face as I read Ralph’s obituary. Ralph is the very reason why I have such a wonderful, healthy marriage and the reason I even got married at all. As I’m sure many have experienced - your childhood and things that happened to you or didn’t happen for you in your childhood have a way of affecting you. Because I was on my own since I was 18 and I had been in abusive relationships in the past, some physically and some emotionally, when I was shown genuine love from my husband, who was my fiancé at the time, I didn’t know how to accept it. When one thing went wrong or became a challenge or became too real, it was easier for me to just leave - I knew I could take care of myself. Billy was the first person who didn’t just accept my strong will and let me go. He was the first person to tell me that leaving was not an option, things didn’t have to be perfect, but as long as we loved each other we could get through things together. It was then that I realized how scarred I was and we decided to seek marriage counseling even before we were married so I didn’t screw things up and so I could work through my past with my fiancé so that we could have a healthy future together. That marriage therapist was Ralph Santiago. Ralph was gentle, kind, patient, warm, fair, intelligent, and loving and the very reason that I have this amazing, loving, healthy marriage still after 20 years. I can still envision him sitting down in his chair with his neck pillow leaning back and listening. Ralph - you were loved, respected, and appreciated more than you will ever know. Until we meet again, my friend ❤️

I will always remember Ralph's incredible enthusiasm, warmth, sense of empathy, intelligence and gentleness.
I worked with Ralph back in the day at Camelot, where I initially met him, and then when we worked to establish the YMCA Counseling Service. He was such a great colleague and over the years when we would chance to run into one another, it was always a special moment.
My condolences to the family on the loss of such a wonderful man. It saddens me deeply.

Such wonderful memories with you Ralphie, the family gatherings from when we were young, the Yankee games, bbq’s at Uncle Sonny’s. The reunión at Mary Ann’s and Bob’s place in NJ. Oh and the time you wrecked uncle George’s VW Fastback. The way he told the story had us laughing. I will miss you my cousin. Now you are resting in peace and are with our family up above. I love you!
