Obituary of Dolores L. Albergo
Dolores Lucille Albergo (nee Lotito), 84, of Staten Island, a retired bookkeeper/auditor and a dedicated family woman, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Dolores graduated from Fort Hamilton High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Angelo L. Albergo and they had two daughters, Rosemarie and Lucille.
Dolores loved her family and cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She expressed her love in many ways, including cooking beautiful meals for her family and ensuring that no one who entered her home went unfed. She was a quiet, gentle soul who brought peace and comfort to everyone she encountered. Her words and actions exemplified her class and dignity throughout her life.
In addition to her love and compassion, Dolores was a brilliant woman with a wide range of talents. She worked as a bookkeeper for 21 years at Adelphi Academy and then as an auditor for 16 years at a complex medical practice. She took pride in her career, especially in the fact that she worked until eighty years of age. Dolores was predeceased by her parents, Anthony and Lucille Lotito, her siblings, Thomas and Kathleen Lotito and her brother-in-law, Ralph Albergo.
Dolores will be profoundly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband of 63 years, Angelo, she is also survived by her daughters, Rosemarie (Arthur) Tiberi and Lucille (Dr. David) Mastrianni and her grandchildren, David Tiberi, Allison (Andrew) Schlissel, Angela, Francesca and Sam Mastrianni.
