Obituary of Gertrude Huband

Gertrude Henrietta Huband ( nee Rudolph ) age 97, kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend passed on Sunday August 25, 2019. Gertrude was born and raised in Staten Island New York and moved to Fanwood New Jersey in 2018. She was a beloved wife to her late husband Franklin Huband and loving mother to daughter Evelyn Price and dear son in-law Jan Price and son Douglas Huband. She was the devoted sister of the late Marie Lyle, Lillian Moon and Anna Boaen. Also a grandmother to three granddaughters, Kathleen Pinho, Suzanne Pantano and Meghan DiCupillo and her only grandson Douglas Huband. Gertrude was blessed with 15 great grandchildren. Gertrude worked in administration for Staten Island Hospital for 25 years. She enjoyed fine dining in New York City and attending Broadway shows especially with her best friend Mary Noone. Gertrude was well known as a devoted and dedicated Yankee fan so much so she named her loving bird "Yankee Boy" after her favorite team. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Gertrude's memory to Cora Hartshorn Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary, 324 Forest Drive South, Millburn, NJ 07078. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. On Wednesday, 8/28/19, funerals service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, 8/27/19, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM.
