Obituary of James E. Devlin

James E. Devlin, 67, of Westerleigh, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2019. He was the son of the late Eugene S. and late Mary E. Devlin; loving brother of Maureen O'Gara (Thomas), John Devlin, Robert Devlin (Michelle), William Devlin (Lisa), Kathleen Devlin, and the late Eugene S. Devlin. He was also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. James was born on Staten Island, raised in Port Richmond and Westerleigh, graduated from Msgr. Farrell High School, and attended Wagner College. He worked for about 35 years as a Mail Carrier, with the Port Richmond Post Office, having the same route for 33 years. In his younger years, he was a great ball player. James also enjoyed watching sports and was very close to his siblings, nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, departing at 9:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church at 10 am. Interment to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
