Obituary of Barbara J. Diaz
Barbara J. Diaz, age 59, lost her battle with cancer passing away on September 16, 2019. She was the devoted daughter of the late George and Jane Freist. She was the beloved wife of Charles for 37 years. She was the loving mother of Christopher Diaz and Valerie Matkovich and her spouse Brandi. She was the cherished sister of Susan Saliski, Jane Petrizzi, and the late Carol Cannatelli. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She also leaves behind her precious "furbabies" who were with her until her passing.
Barbara was born and raised in Staten Island. She was an alumnus of Port Richmond High School. It was her time in High School when she met and fell in love with her future husband, Charles. They were married in 1982 and were blessed with two wonderful children. Barbara was a dedicated wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a jokester who loved making people laugh and her passionate unconditional love of animals.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marty's Place Senior Dog Sanctuary, 118 County Road 526 Allentown, NJ 08501 in Barbara's memory.
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Friday, 9/20/19, funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday and Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 10:00 PM.
