Obituary of Agatha B. Rodrigo
Agatha B. Rodrigo, 67, of Port Richmond, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2019. She was the beloved wife of Dezmond Rodrigo for 44 years; loving mother of Peter Rodrigo, Mary Jones and her husband, Calvin, and Zeno Rodrigo; cherished grandmother of Jayden and Brandon Jones; devoted daughter of Edith and the late Kingsley; dear sister of Linda Silva and her husband, Malcolm, Jennifer Silva, Rebecca Lorage, Blossom Jayakody and her husband, Hiran, and the late Guy Albert. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Agatha was born in 1952 in Sri Lanka, and emigrated to the United States in 1988, settling in the St. George neighborhood, before eventually moving to Port Richmond. She was employed as a Supervisor with P.R.W.T. on Staten Island for approximately 20 years. She was a very devout Catholic, who spent a lot of time at Church. Agatha was also very devoted to her family and extremely selfless to the people of her community. She also enjoyed shopping, especially at Macy's. Agatha was the life of the party and loved to dance!
Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Monday, departing at 9:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated St. Adalbert's R.C. Church at 10:30 am. Private cremation to follow. Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
