Obituary of Marie Elena Garguilo

Marie Elena Garguilo of Dongan Hills, a beloved mother and adored grandmother, passed away on September 28, 2019 surrounded by her family at the age of 78. She is survived by her three daughters Denise Benvenuto, Cathy Brachman, and Traci DeSapio and will be forever lovingly remembered by her four grandchildren Ashley Benvenuto, Arian Benvenuto-DiDonna, Lyla Rose and Santino DeSapio. Marie Elena was born in Brooklyn on September 26, 1941. She cherished her daily Novenas with Padre Pio, cooking for her family, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marie Elena was a selfless and caring person, devoted wholeheartedly to all that she did, and always thought of others first. "To know her was to love her."

Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Wednesday, departing at 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's R.C. Church at 11 am. Entombment to follow in Moravian Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 10:00 pm.
