Obituary of Cornelius "Uncle Sonny" Pagliaro

Cornelius "Üncle Sonny" Pagliaro, age 91, passed away on November 17, 2019. He was the beloved uncle of JoAnn Piccarelli, William Pagliaro and his wife Maria and Stephen Pagliaro and his wife Carmen. He was the loving great uncle of Dr. Michael Piccarelli and his wife Dr. Desiree Serini, Stephen Pagliaro and his wife Cathy, Anthony Pagliaro and the late Matthew Piccarelli. He was the cherished great great uncle of Adrina, Francesca, Grace, Jackson and Vivian. Uncle Sonny was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. Growing up, Uncle Sonny was well known for his athleticism especially when playing basketball. He went on to serve his country honorably and continued to play basketball while in the Army. Uncle Sonny worked for the NYC Parks Department as a Supervisor. He later moved to Staten Island in 1991. Family was extremely important to Uncle Sonny. He had a very special bond with his nieces and nephews. Uncle Sonny will be remembered as caring, loving and selfless man who touched the lives of many over the years. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him. Funeral from the Matthew Funeral Home Inc., 2508 Victory Blvd. On Saturday, 11/23/19, departing at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Adalbert's R.C. Church at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, 11/21/19 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday, 11/22/19, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM..
