My grandpa was a beautiful soul with a heart of gold. Always so positive and always making other people happy. His jokes always made me laugh, even when they were corny, bc his smile and laugh were infectious. I was always excited to see him and I couldn't wait to go to Jersey every holiday, or whenever my family and I would go on a random weekend to visit. My grandpa always asked my mom if I was coming, and that made me feel so loved. I loved him just as much. And still do. Everyone tells me how many good memories they have with him. No one ever has anything bad to say. And he is at peace now and with my grandma who he's missed for 18 years. I was honored with doing a reading at his mass yesterday and I hope I made him proud. He definitely made me proud. Not only bc he was honored by the Air Force and NYPD during his funeral, but bc he was a tremendous and loving man who spread his love and happiness to everyone. He would've done anything for his friends and family. Rest In Peace Bad Boy Bernie.

So sorry to my cousins Linda, Kathy and Sue. Lots of great memories, too many to list. Uncle Bernie always made me laugh and when our families got together to go to Lake George,it was always the highlight of the summer. When I was a kid Uncle Berns always sang Daniel my Brother to me by Elton John. Gonna miss ya Uncle Berns. Rest easy with Aunt Glo

My uncle was the most genuine, bright, fun and lovable human being anyone could ever meet. He met me when he came home from the Korean War. I could not say uniform yet, so I said that Uncle Bernie was wearing an underform - how do I know this - because my mother told this story countless times.
Uncle Bernie lived a life of service from military service to being a policeman to other forms of service. Always with a smile, always with concern for his fellow man.
In addition to the family he was born into, all of whom loved him dearly, he had a beautiful family of his own. I know he felt blessed and he truly was.
I will miss so many things about my uncle, his caring, his jokes, his phone calls. But in the missing, I will remember him and pray for him.
How blessed I was to have him in my life!
